sCapes are a series of digital images of  imaginary landscapes.  I got the idea for this series by the pattern made by coffee grounds left at the bottom of my cup; it struck me that the lines and shapes they left looked very much like Asian painting .  I combined photographs of the grounds to create veiled strata culminating in a spatial statement.   I started calling them C-Scapes because they were based upon coffee and also as a pun on C referencing seeing. These images have been enhanced by markers and color pencil.

They relate to my sculptures in that I compose an image partly from what I generate and partly from “found objects”.  While these two bodies of work are different in media, there is a sympathy between them in form and nature.
